Fire Destroys Soddy Daisy Home

A Soddy Daisy home is a total loss following a house fire on February 5, 2026.

A couple awoke to the smell of smoke and a popping noise coming from a closet.

Around 5 a.m., a female called 911 1 reporting fire coming from her HVAC unit and her boyfriend was attempting to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.

Soddy Daisy Fire Department responded to 12000 block of Old Dayton Pike and reported heavy black smoke surrounding the entire home when they arrived.

Once firefighters confirmed everyone was out of the house, one team conducted an interior attack while another team started to extinguish the fire on the outside and crawl space area, the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management said.

“The home had two roof lines which created a “dutch oven” effect and kept the fire burning throughout the home.”

– Dusty Morgan, Soddy Daisy Fire Chief, said.

No injuries were reported.

Chief Morgan reported the house is total loss.

Damages and cause of the fire are unknown at this time.
