Governor Highlights Growth During Pikeville Visit
PIKEVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) – Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee visited Pikeville as part of Tennessee’s participation in the nation’s 250th celebration, known as America 250.
During the visit, Lee highlighted population growth across much of the state and efforts to preserve farmland through initiatives like the Farmland Conservation Act.
He also emphasized continued support for education, public safety, and veterans.
“You know this country is not perfect. It’s on the path to becoming a more perfect union and we should never stop. We should never stop working toward that end and most importantly I think we should never stop working together toward that,” Lee said.
In Pikeville, local leaders highlighted a new feed plant bringing twenty-three jobs as well as expanded health and EMS services.
Lee also spent time greeting residents and taking photos as the statewide America 250 tour continues.
The America 250 tour is ongoing, with Governor Lee planning to visit every county in Tennessee before the anniversary celebrations conclude, showcasing growth, community investment, and the state’s history.
