Elderly couple loses house to fire in Sale Creek
An elderly couple has lost their house to a house fire that occurred at the 12,000 block of Newman Green Road on February 16.
An elderly male heard his smoke detector activate, got up to investigate and then found fire in the kitchen, according to the Office of Emergency Management.
The elderly man and his wife escaped the fire without injuries.
They say Sale Creek VFD responded to the scene and reported a fully involved residential fire. Soddy Daisy Fire Department also responded for Mutual Aid bringing additional manpower and a water tanker.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be investigated by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
They say the house is a total loss and the couple was insured and will be staying with family.
