Candidate Highlights Plans for Tennesseans

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Tennessee Governor candidate Jerri Green visited Chattanooga on Tuesday to meet with local residents and voters. The event took place at the Chattanooga Masonic Center.

Green, a lifelong Tennessean who has lived in Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville, spoke about her campaign priorities, including housing, public schools, and healthcare.

During the luncheon, she observed a moment of silence for Jesse Jackson and heard a quote from President John F. Kennedy.

Green also addressed housing support for veterans, stating “We can provide housing vouchers to people in need. I met a veteran just the other day in Knoxville and he said, ‘I’m homeless now’. The idea that we have people who have served our country that are sleeping on couches or in cars is wrong. We need to step up and use the money we are sitting on right now.”

Green mentioned plans to support public schools and make healthcare accessible to Tennesseans. She encouraged residents to engage with her campaign.

The Chattanooga stop was the 57th destination of her statewide campaign tour where she meets voters and discusses policy priorities.
