Barry White, Chattanooga Tourism Company CEO, steps down in the face of criticism of his organization
The head of the Chattanooga Tourism Company is stepping down in the face of criticism of his organization.
CEO Barry White has announced his retirement from the organization after eight years.
He says retirement has been on his radar and he is eager to explore new pursuits along with spending more time with family.
But White was the target of complaints from Hamilton County Commissioners when they pulled funding from the group.
Instead, Hamilton County is sending it to Chattanooga Sports and events Corporation.
They are gun for an official who left the Tourism Company last year under disputed circumstances.
And Mayor Wamp has also recruited the alternative organization to recruit a new youth sports complex in Hamilton County.
The Commission has complained that Barry White would not communicate with them.
