Upcoming road closures and construction
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — There will be many events around town this weekend. See the road closures to plan your travel:
CONSTRUCTION CLOSURES
Altamont Road – Work Extended
The work on Altamont Road between Avalon Circle and High Point Drive has been extended through Friday, July 17th. Restrictions will continue for through traffic between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3 PM to repair stormwater infrastructure. If workers are not present on site, the road will reopen each evening and on weekends. The intersection of Altamont and Glenroy Ave will also remain closed during active work. Detours will be posted. Work is weather permitting.
Hickory Valley Road between Granda Drive and Standifer Gap Road will be closed Sunday, June 28th from 9 AM until 2 PM to remove a decaying tree from the right of way. Detours will be posted.
Shallowford Road between Hilldale Drive and Moss Street will be closed Monday, June 29th from 9 AM until 2 PM to remove a decaying tree from the right of way. Brainerd Road and Tunnel Blvd are strongly recommended for a detour route, temporary signage will direct traffic through the listed detour route.
SPECIAL EVENT CLOSURES
The following locations will be closed or restricted on Fridays between May 1st and July 31st for the weekly free concert series:

St Elmo Play Streets
Alabama Ave between W 56th Street and W 57th Street will be closed on Saturday, June 27th from 9 AM until 3:30 PM for St Elmo Play Streets.
Patten Parkway between Lindsay Street and Georgia Avenue will be closed Saturday, June 27th, from Noon until 11:30 PM for Summerween.
The following locations will be closed on Saturday, May June 27th from 10 AM until 10 PM for a CFC match at Finley Stadium:

Riverfront Parkway between Chestnut Street and Power Alley will be closed on Saturday, June 27th from Noon until 11:15 PM for Riverfront Nights.
All tractor trailers will be prohibited between MLK Blvd and Aquarium Way on Riverfront Parkway and must use the signed detour route. This closure coincides with the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon closure.

Road Closure / Detour Schedule
Friday, June 26th Through Race Day
8:00 AM: One block of Riverfront Parkway, between Power Alley and Chestnut Street, will be closed for race venue set and pre-race activities. Tractor-trailers will not be permitted between W MLK Blvd and Lookout Street unless providing local deliveries.
Sunday, June 22nd – Race Day
4:40 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Riverfront Parkway will be closed from Molly Lane’s east entrance to Aquarium Way.

All inbound traffic on Amnicola Hwy / Riverside Drive / Riverfront Parkway will be detoured off at Battery Place.

Aquarium Way and Lookout Street will have outbound-only access to Riverfront Parkway/Riverside Drive.

The inside lanes of Riverfront Pkwy / Riverside Drive / Amnicola Hwy, inbound and outbound, will be closed to bicycle traffic only, with the support of the Chattanooga Police Department at major intersections.

7:00 am – 1:00 pm: Expect high runner traffic on the Southside section of the Riverwalk
Reggie White Blvd between W 20th Street and the Skate Park/Dog Park entrance will be closed Sunday, June 28th from 8 AM until 8 PM for the Chattanooga Market.
