Woman sentenced for stealing 8,000 Gift Cards from Home Depot

ATLANTA (WDEF) – A Georgia woman faces three years in prison for a major fraud against Home Depot.

Prosecutors say Felecia Ingram stole more than $4 million in gift cards.

She was a gift card sales associate for The Home Depot.

During the pandemic, she stole over 8,000 gift cards.

Then she used her store credentials to activate them by creating false orders.

“While employed at The Home Depot, the defendant abused the trust placed in her and stole a staggering $4 million from the company,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. “She engaged in a calculated scheme that involved entering false gift card orders, which she later deleted to cover her tracks. She has now been sentenced to federal prison to pay for her deceit.”

Eventually, Home Depot discovered the fraud by noticing a discrepancy in the gift card ledger balance.
