Massive Home Catches Fire

RINGGOLD, GA. (WDEF) – Firefighters responded to a large house fire Tuesday morning on The Pointe Drive in Ringgold.

The Catoosa County Fire Department was called to the scene just after 7 a.m. 

Crews arrived to find a fire burning at a large home on the property and began working to bring the flames under control.

The house was vacant at the time of the fire.

Neighbors tell News 12 the home had recently been purchased and was expected to be one of the largest houses in the neighborhood once completed.

One neighbor also recalled a previous incident on the property. He said about 10 years ago, he saw the same area get struck by lightning, which sparked a fire at that time.

Fire crews remained on scene Tuesday morning as they continued working to contain the fire.

According to Catoosa County Public Information Officer John Pless the cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
