TCFD responds to search and rescue mission at Foster Falls Park

SEQUATCHIE, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Saturday around 3 p.m., the Foster Falls Volunteer Fire Department and Tracy City, Tennessee Fire & Rescue (TCFD) responded to Foster Falls Park for a search and rescue.

According to TCFD, along with Foster Falls and other first responder agencies, they responded to the scene with 5 members and proceeded to create a game plan.

After a lengthy hike, an injured male was located and packaged for extraction.

TCFD says that due to the terrain and the nature of the subject’s injury, the patient was hoisted around 60 feet up a rock ledge to the bluff to allow for a safer and faster removal from the park.

The patient was transported to the parking area where he received further medical evaluation and transportation.

All units cleared the scene around 9:30 p.m.

No further details are available.
