Ooltewah farmer honored by state of Tennessee
Aubie Smith grows sunflowers, strawberries and tulips for the public
OOLTEWAH, Tennessee (WDEF) – The U-T Ag office is honoring a local farmer.
They have picked Aubie Smith from Ooltewah as a finalist for Farmer of the Year.
Aubie Smith farms began as cattle producers, but have since branched out into tulips, pumpkins and produce.
And just in time for the honor, the farm began selling a new crop of strawberries today.
They began with a handful of cows in the early 1990’s.
And they have expanded into the agri-tourism business in recent years with sunflowers, tulips and strawberries.
