CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Former jewelry dealer and pawn shop owner Rick Davis made a virtual appearance in court Friday morning.

Davis’s hearing this morning was on theft charges he was indicted on by a Hamilton County Grand Jury in late 2024.

The indictment stated that he stole thousands of dollars from eight separate victims.

Prosecutors say they are just now turning over discovery to Davis’s defense attorney.

This is something that raised questions for Hamilton County Judge Amanda Dunn.

Judge Dunn said, “The filing date on this presentment was August of 2024 so it’s concerning to me that the defense is just now getting discovery a year and a half into the case. I’m inclined to set a status date, but then after that we have to start looking beyond just setting status dates.”

There are still other cases involving Davis that are being processed through a Hamilton County Grand Jury.
