New Pennington’s Coffee Shop Opens Books Art Space

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A new bookstore, coffee shop, and art gallery is officially open on Chattanooga’s Southside.

Pennington’s marked its grand opening Saturday, introducing a multi-use space designed for reading, gathering, and showcasing local creativity. 

When doors first opened earlier in the day, families were welcomed in with a storytelling session for children as part of the celebration.

The shop is named after owner Spencer Pennington and features a wide selection of new and used books. 

Its collection includes literary fiction, nonfiction, and genre titles such as romance and fantasy, aiming to offer something for a broad range of readers.

In addition to books and coffee, the space also includes a curated art gallery led by partner Ellie Wical. 

The gallery features Wical’s own work alongside pieces from other local artists, including pottery and prints, highlighting a variety of mediums within the shared space.
