Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy being investigated

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond orders a deputy investigated after evidence was found at his home during an eviction.

It started when a the HCSO Civil Process Department got a set-out or eviction court order for an employee living at North Dent Road.

The property owner is also an employee.

During the set-out, deputies found case information and evidence packages.

An envelope was found that had a very small amount of suspect marijuana.

The evidence found was collected and properly secured in the evidence storage room until further review.

Sheriff Hammond asked for Internal Affairs to do a full investigation.

The deputy’s employee status has not been determined yet.
