CFD extinguishes apartment fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) –  On Satuday night around 11:49 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) responded to an an apartment fire on the 1100 block of Grove Street.

According to CFD, when arriving on scene, they reported seeing smoke and visible flames on the first floor of the stucture.

Back up was requested due to unconfirmed, potential, occupants inside the strucutre, however, this was cancelled after learning the structure was unoccupied.

After a thorough primary and secondary search, the structure was confirmed to be completely vacant.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire.
