Stringers Ridge wood fire under control

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — An overnight fire at Stringers Ridge Park is finally under control after an hours long response by local firefighters on April 22, 2026.

The Chattanooga Fire Department says firefighters and the TN Division of Forestry responded to 898 High Ridge Drive after 911 received multiple reports of visible flames and smoke from concerned citizens around 11:45 p.m.

They say Chattanooga Fire personnel worked with Forestry to start fire breaks with leaf blowers. Two more trucks from Forestry arrived and joined the existing fire ground operations.

Once all units arrived, water shuttle operations began to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters from CFD and Forestry used handlines to surround the fire from different sides.

CFD says after an extended operation, the fire was under control at around 6 a.m. on 4/23/26.
