Early voting began this week for GA primaries

ATLANTA (WDEF) – The Republican Governor’s race in Georgia may get the headlines, but there are a lot of races on the ballot in this latest election.

The May 19th election includes party primaries for both state and federal elections, plus some non-partisan state races.

Early voting is underway now in your county.

But there are a lot more races to consider besides the headliners.

We’ve gathered the links so you can see what’s on your ballot:

Whitfield County ballots

Catoosa County ballots

Walker County ballots

Dade County ballots

(go halfway down the page for sample ballots)

Murray County ballots

NOTE: Check your local election commission for early voting times and places.

NOTE: Georgia is a runoff election state, meaning a candidate must gets 50% plus one vote to actually win.  If no candidate gets a majority, the top 2 candidates will face off again on June 16. Since several of the races have up to 10 candidates, that is a possibility.
