Stay protected this summer with help from the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Pollen is visible in the air, on pavement, and on cars, which means it’s peak allergy season and Chattanooga Allergy Clinic is ready treat the symptoms.

The Chattanooga Allergy Clinic offers many ways to get relief from allergy symptoms that are better than over the counter medicines. Dr. Marc Cromie suggests seeing a board certified allergist, get tested for allergies, and consider beginining immunotherapy.

Immunotherapy is a series of administered medicines to help change the immune system. Doing it enough times could prevent allergy flare ups and symptoms by next spring.

Additionally, as the summer heat starts to come down, the air quality will begin to worsen. This causes problems for those with repiratory issues and asthma. It may mean needing to change your routine or have additional medicine.

Dr. Cromie highly suggests limiting outdoor activities around 10 AM – 3 PM when the air quality is bad. For those still needed to go outside, he recommends pre-treating yourself with allergy medicine/inhaler before stepping outside.
