How many International Students do we have in Tennessee?

NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Tennessee is defying the national trend when it comes to international students.

The information comes from a new study by Manifest Law.

While the numbers are dropping nationwide, Tennessee actually saw a slight increase last year.

We are only one of ten states that saw an increase.

The vast majority of international students go to U.S. colleges.

We had just over 14,000 last year in Tennessee.

Nationally, the figure peaked last year and then began a decline.

But the numbers have been reasonably stable over the last decade.

Most of the students come to the U.S. from China and India.

Last year, Washington State saw the most dramatic drop in international students while Mississippi saw the largest increase.
