Kitchen fire on East 4th Street ruled accidental

Firefighters were called to a blaze on East 4th Street.

No one was home, and firefighters had to force their way in.

They found the fire in the kitchen.

Flames were beginning to spread up the walls and into the stairwell.

Firefighters were able to quickly put the blaze out before it spread any further.

Officials say cooking oil was left on the stove unattended and that caused the fire.

Damage is estimated at 15-20 thousand dollars.

There were no injuries.
