Safe Kids Day Brings Safety Lessons and Family Fun to the Zoo
CHATTANOOGA, Tn. (WDEF)Families spent the day learning important safety lessons while enjoying the animals at the Chattanooga Zoo Saturday during the annual Safe Kids at the Zoo event.
Children’s Hospital at Erlanger partnered with the zoo and Safe Kids Southeast Tennessee to host the family-friendly event focused on keeping children safe at home, on the road, and at play.
Families explored first responder vehicles, played interactive games, and visited booths from more than 30 community organizations offering hands-on safety demonstrations and resources.
Lindsay Bass said the event gave families access to a variety of safety information all in one place.
“We have our first responders, the Chattanooga Brain Injury Association fitting kids for bike helmets, safe sleep information, the health department, and so many different organizations,” Bass said. “There’s something for everybody.”
The event was free with zoo admission and welcomed families of all ages.
