National Day of Prayer held at The Bethlehem Center in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-The Bethlehem Center welcomed community members this morning as it hosted a National Day of Prayer gathering in Chattanooga.

The Bethlehem Center opened its doors for the annual observance, which brings people of all faiths together to pray for the nation, local communities, and leaders.

Organizers say the event is meant to foster unity and hope while creating a space for reflection on both large and small community needs.

Dr. Gerald Ware, executive director of The Bethlehem Center, says the gathering is about collective support and shared purpose.

“We just use it as an opportunity to bring the community to pray for the community needs, to pray that the agencies need, to pray for the nation, to pray for the military, the government, and any other need that might be present or presented to us—no matter how big, no matter how small, it’s really a community,” Ware said.

The Bethlehem Center has served the Alton Park community for more than 100 years, offering faith-based programs focused on education, leadership development, and outreach services.

Organizers say events like the National Day of Prayer continue that long-standing mission by bringing residents together in unity and shared reflection.
