TSEC Brings State and National Championships to Chattanooga
Chattanooga TN (WDEF)Championship sports are taking over Chattanooga this May as The Sports & Events Corporation, also known as TSEC, brings five major state and national events to the area.
From middle school athletes to college competitors, teams from across Tennessee and beyond are traveling to Chattanooga to compete for championship titles at venues across the city.
At Warner Park, families packed the sidelines and bleachers, cheering loudly as student-athletes took the field during the TSSAA Middle School Softball Championships.
Parents say watching their children compete on a championship stage is a proud moment for families and teams alike.
“The girls have really battled this year and have come together and played very well,” said parent Charrise. “We’re as parents super excited for them, very proud of them, so we’re just excited to see them come out and give a good show and do their very best.”
For many families, Chattanooga is more than just a tournament destination. Parents say the experience also gives athletes a chance to imagine future opportunities at the collegiate level.
“So excited to hear that we are playing at UTC,” said parent Mandy Barrett. “It allows the girls to be able to see what it’s like as a college field. To experience it all — and it’s a beautiful field. Who knows, maybe one of these days some of the girls will be playing here.”
The championship events continue throughout the week at venues across Chattanooga as teams compete for state and national titles.
