Askins brothers sentenced for deadly gang retaliation shooting in 2023
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Two brothers have been sentenced for shooting up three houses in North Chattanooga three years ago.
One man was killed in the incident.
It happened in August of 2023 on Maryland Street at the corner of Spears Avenue.
Samuel and Caleb Askins were convicted of the shooting in what they called a gang quarrel.
Samuel did the shooting and got a life sentence plus 20 years.
Caleb stayed home that night but helped provide and alibi and was convicted for conspiracy.
The brothers’ mother was injured in a previous shooting of their home.
The three homes that Samuel shot up were all related to the Gangster Disciples gang.
