Three firefighters treated for heat exhaustion in battle with Dalton house fire
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF)- Three firefighters were treated for apparent heat exhaustion in a Dalton fire Tuesday evening.
Dalton firefighters say they responded to a home at 19-06 Bedford Drive around 5:30 p.m.
They found a fire had spread to the attic.
The occupants of the home were able to escape but the home suffered heavy damage.
The three firefighters who suffered the apparent heat exhaustion were transported to Hamilton Medical Center, and are expected to be treated and released Tuesday night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Early indications are that the fire began while the family was grilling in the backyard and spread to the back wall of the house.
