One deer dead after crashing into deputy’s windshield

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Friday, around 3:30 PM, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was traveling southbound along the 14100 block of Dayton Pike when suddenly a deer entered the roadway.

The deer became airborne, and crashing through the deputy’s windshield, landing in the passenger seat.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy had minor injuries, however, the deer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

There will be a follow-up investigation conducted at a later time.

Police say, it’s a good reminder as more people and deer will be on the roadways this holiday weekend.
