Rep. Fleischmann says no surprise energy rate hikes
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Will data centers across the southeast impact your power bill?
That’s the question many are asking as construction on new data centers to support AI infrastructure continues.
The Tennessee Valley Authority met with over one hundred local power companies this week to address possible rate changes.
Reports say the TVA is considering possible rate changes to keep up with power demand of data centers.
Representative Chuck Fleischmann says, “I can assure you that there will be no rate increases without going to the people and there will be no action taken without TVA going to the citizenry and to the stakeholders, EPB or local constituents and having a public forum for this.”
No final decision about possible rate changes has been made by TVA.
