Mayor Wamp shares story of daughter getting surprise autograph from Lamine Yamal during arrival in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp says a special moment happened for one of his daughters during Spain’s arrival on Friday.
Mayor Wamp says his nine year old daughter, Griffin, managed to get Lamine Yamal’s autograph at the airport.
He says that she is a youth soccer player and loves the game.
The mayor described the scene to us as he was giving a welcoming speech to the team.
He said, “When I was speaking, I was actually welcoming the team, and she was standing upfront and she made her move and walked right into the middle of the team and up to Yamal and asked for his autograph. It’s a really sweet deal. We got a little video of one of the other players going to pull in the jersey so that they could sign it. Obviously it’s a dream come true for a little girl.”
Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly also was on hand to welcome the team at the airport on Friday afternoon.
