Electrical shortage causes truck to catch fire

At 9:40 p.m. CST on June 26, 2026, the Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Highway 127 and Resource Road intersection.

Upon arrival, they reported a small fire under the dash of a pickup truck.

Officers used a fire extinguisher on the fire and requested the Fire Department to continue its response.

1 Engine arrived and firefighters used a Thermal Imaging Camera to verify fire was completely extinguished. The fire started from an electrical shortage in the cab.

There were no injuries.
