Ringgold Councilman Jake Haynes passes away

RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) – The City of Ringgold has confirmed that Councilman Jake Haynes has passed away.

According to the city, Haynes’ death was sudden and unexpected.

In a statement shared on the city’s Facebook page, officials said Haynes served on the Ringgold City Council for more than 12 years.

The statement reads, “More than this, as a lifelong resident of Ringgold, he loved the city and its residents. He was a generous man who consistently placed others before himself. He will be missed.”

The city has not released a cause of death.

City officials are asking the community to keep Haynes’ family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
