Whitfield County invites the community to first Fourth of July Drone Show
WHITFIELD COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – With the Fourth of July just days away, several counties across our area are preparing to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with community events.
Whitfield County is joining the festivities by hosting its own drone show on Thursday, July 2, at the Dalton Fairgrounds. (500 Legion Dr, Dalton, GA 30721)
The celebration begins at 3 p.m. with approximately 50 food trucks lining the streets. Families can also enjoy carnival games, inflatables, and the chance to win nearly 4,000 prizes.
The event will also feature three live musical performances, with Grand Funk Railroad serving as the headlining act.
Whitfield County Board of Commissioners Chairman Jevin Jensen said the drone show will be unlike a traditional fireworks display, creating an experience that is both entertaining and meaningful.
“It is an actual picture of something, and then it moves and transitions into something else, and then it comes back over here. So it really makes for a nice experience to have fun, learn about America, celebrate our community, and celebrate the strength that we have.”
The drone show is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
