Dalton’s Unemployment Rate Drops Again

Dalton (WDEF) – The Georgia Department of Labor reports that the unemployment rate in Dalton dropped in August.

The rate was 6.3%, which is a 1% improvement since July, when it went up.

Dalton saw 200 more jobs created during the month of August, mostly in textile manufacturing and wholesale trade.

That makes a net gain of 1,100 jobs in the city this year.

Unemployment improved .7% across the entire northwest Georgia area in August.
