CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Erlanger LIFE FORCE has announced the integration of a portable rapid-fluid and blood resuscitation system across its entire fleet of helicopters.

They say the technology upgrade from LifeFlow® PLUS enhances the ability of flight crews to provide life-saving, rapid fluid and blood resuscitation to critically ill and injured patients during transport.

LIFE FORCE Air Medical says time is a critical factor in the treatment of hemorrhagic shock, sepsis, and other life-threatening conditions. Conventional methods of fluid delivery—such as pressure bags or gravity infusion—can often be time-consuming or difficult to manage in the dynamic, high-acuity environment of an air ambulance.

They say the portable system is hand-operated device designed to overcome these barriers.

The technology provides an efficient way to deliver blood, blood components, and crystalloid fluids, allowing the flight crew to stabilize patients more effectively while in the air.

“Our commitment to our patients is to provide the highest level of care possible, even in the most challenging conditions,” said Stacy Prater, EMS Liaison, Outreach Education Coordinator for LIFE FORCE. “Adding this system to our helicopters is a significant step forward in our resuscitation capabilities. It allows our flight teams to deliver essential fluids and blood products with greater speed, control, and precision, directly translating to improved outcomes for the patients we serve.”

They say this upgrade to the helicopter fleet brings several benefits including:

• Rapid Resuscitation: Enables rapid delivery of blood and fluids to address hypotension and shock, which is vital when minutes matter.
• Ease of Use: The intuitive, ergonomic design allows for quick setup, reducing complexity for flight clinicians who are managing multiple patient-care priorities.
• Proven Efficacy: The system is specifically engineered to handle the demands of modern pre-hospital resuscitation, providing a reliable alternative to traditional, slower infusion methods.
