Portion of Traverse Park to close for firework prep

The north end of Traverse Park will close starting at 1 p.m. on July 2, 2026.

The City of LaFayette says this includes the disc golf course and the section of the walking trail that encompasses it.

Wheels Park will remain open until 8:45 p.m.

They say this closure is due to preparations for the July 2 fireworks display, which will take place in that area of the park.

The Freedom Festival begins at Ross Abney at 5 p.m., with live music starting at 7 p.m. and the fireworks display beginning a little after 10:00 p.m.
