The Chattanooga Zoo introduces several exciting new additions
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Zoo is introducing several exciting new additions for guests to enjoy.
Jake Cash, the zoo’s director of communications, said visitors can now take part in a brand-new feeding experience with the zoo’s Aldabra giant tortoises, giving guests an opportunity to interact with the animals up close.
The zoo is also celebrating the arrival of several new residents.
Suzy and Sam, two longtime black crested mangabeys at the zoo, recently welcomed a one-month-old baby named Sully.
The zoo is also introducing Willow, a nine-year-old Chinese panda who recently arrived from Houston.
Cash said these experiences help strengthen the connection between visitors and wildlife while supporting the zoo’s mission of conservation and education.
“At the end of the day, our goal is to help people connect with wildlife. This face-to-face experience with the giant tortoises helps people appreciate those animals more and appreciate what we’re doing at the zoo in terms of animal care and conservation. We want to educate people, inspire them to care more about animals, get connected with them, and help us all be good stewards of the natural world.”
The Chattanooga Zoo encourages guests to stop by and meet its newest animal residents during their next visit.
Before heading home, visitors can also check out the zoo’s new concession stand, Sloth Serve, for a sweet treat.
