New Bill that might change Daylight Savings

CHATTANOOGA, TN.- Could the debate between standard time or daylight savings time be coming to an end?

The U-S House of representatives passed the sunshine protection act yesterday.

The bipartisan bill would make daylight savings time permanent.

Supporters of the bill say this would give Americans more daylight in the evening…while critics say the darker mornings could pose a risk to health and safety.

We spoke to one local person who said he isn’t sure if he is ready to give up daylight sayings.

“As a seasonal guy, I would miss it because to me that’s like OK. It’s holiday time when you fall back it’s time for Christmas you know and everybody loves getting that extra hour. Of course nobody likes gaining that other hour but again leaving that’s like now it’s time for spring it’s time for summer.” says Colton Buckles, a UTC Student.

The bill is now headed to the united states senate for their consideration.
