Marion County High School vs. Boyd-Buchanan School

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – It’s not often we get to see a one versus two showdown in high school football, but we got one Friday night between number one ranked Marion County and second ranked Boyd Buchanan.

The Bucs and Warriors have certainly played like a couple of the state’s top teams.

Both clubs entered the night’s contest averaging over 40-points a game, and this game lived up to the hype.

Second quarter, Boyd is up 7-0 when Marion County strikes.

Hunter Zeman the pass to Bryce Massengale for the touchdown.

We’re tied at 7 just minutes before halftime.

Moving along.

Late third quarter, Boyd has just scored to go up 14-7 when they kick off.

Ball goes to Josh Henderson.

Once he gets through traffic, he hits the sidelines and he doesn’t let up.

Henderson takes it to the house to tie the game at 14.

Next Bucs series.

They give the ball to E.J. Matthews.

He’s got a hole, and some speed.

That’s a recipe for a big run.

Matthews will take it in to make it 21-14 Boyd Buchanan.

Fourth quarter, and bad news for Marion County.

Quarterback Logan Walters was injured on this run.

He tries to get up, but goes down again.

Walters had to leave the game.

Hate to see that.

Boyd holds on to win it by that 21-14 final.
