Northwest Whitfield High School evacuated

Tunnel Hill, GA (WDEF) – There was a supicious item or package found at Northwest High School Monday afternoon.

The students were evacuated out of the school to the football field according to the school’s emergency plan.

They were dismissed from there according to the usual schedule, but teen drivers will be leaving late.

They have to wait until the building is cleared by law enforcement to get their keys from inside.

Law enforcement is investigating.
