Whitfield Man Charged With Sexual Abuse of Girl Under 16

Dalton (WDEF) – A Whitfield County man is in jail this afternoon after he was indicted on several sexual assault charges involving a child.

He’s been identified by authorities as 37-year old Jeffery Locklear.

Locklear is facing several charges of rape and sexual battery on a girl young teenager.

According to investigators, he may have raped the girl on more than one occasion last spring.

This all came to light when the girl notified an adult at her school about what had happened.

Locklear remains here in jail without bond.
