Pedestrian hit and killed on Highway 27

UPDATE: The incident scene has been cleared and that part of Highway 27 is back open for traffic.

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office officials confirm a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed on Highway 27 Monday night.

It happened around 6:30 at the intersection of South Coulterville Road and Highway 27.

Deputies found the male victim dead on the roadway.

HCSO Traffic Investigators are on the scene investigating what happened.

The area has been shut down.

Traffic is being re-routed temporarily through South Coulterville Road.
