Carver High School vs. Dalton High School
The Panthers M.O. is pretty simple.
They’re going to run the football, and then they’re going to run it some more.
Carver has racked up over 3500 yards rushing this season.
However, the Catamounts weren’t going to let Carver run over them.
Early 1st quarter with Dalton inside the red zone.
They give it to Drake Mccowan, and he has no trouble at all getting in the end zone to make it 7-0.
Later in the 1st Carver with the ball, but Quarterback Kentrell Barber fumbles the snap.
What ensues next maybe the longest highlight in high school football history.
He scrambles around looking down field….looking….still looking.
Come on kid, we’ve got more games.
Barber finds Gregory Payton, and he sets the Panthers up with great field position.
Same drive, Barber fakes the hand off and scrambles out wide, but the pass gets picked off by Jase Chastain.
2nd quarter action the Catamounts in the red zone looking to punch it in, but the pass is intercepted by Dereck Adams.
Dalton goes on to win 17-7 to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
