Bradley County murder suicide investigation
The bodies were found in a home on Clear Lake Road.
Rosa Dodson described the scene of what she saw last night in her neighborhood.
"Chaos…police officers everywhere. The tiny little road blocked off. Everybody was trying to figure out what had happened."
Bradley County Sherriff’s Office has confirmed that a murder-suicide happened on Clear Lake Road.
According to authorities 57-year-old Ricky Randolph shot his wife Gloria Randolph, once in the head and then shot himself.
The home the Randolph were found in belonged to Ricky Randolph’s father, who passed away over a year ago.
Since then, the house has been vacant.
Mr. and Mrs. Randolph would alternate days to visit the home to feed the dogs.
Sheriff Eric Watson said that is what led Mr. Randolph’s brother-in-law to realize something was wrong.
"Mr. Randolph, didn’t suppose to find the dogs. And his brother-in-law knew that, they didn’t suppose to be there and that’s what threw up some red flags to him."
Sheriff Eric Watson said that couple had been struggling with their marriage.
" It’s sad cause these two was..pending a divorce. And that was going to be concluded soon. They both was going to be separated. Seems like, Mr. Randolph just didn’t want to go through with this divorce…and he wanted his wife gone, as well as himself."
Sheriff Watson offered this advice to anyone experiencing trouble in a relationship.
" If you’re having problems with your spouse, or know somebody that is having problems in a marriage advise them to get away from them, you know go seek help, go seek friends, go seek a new residence to live in ."
Both bodies were sent to the TBI in Nashville for autopsies.
