HCSO deputy collides with deer while driving
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — On Friday, May 22, 2026, around 3:30 p.m., a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputy was traveling southbound along the 14100 block of Dayton Pike when they collided with a deer.
According to the HCSO, a deer entered the roadway, became airborne, and crashed through the deputy’s windshield, landing in the passenger seat.
The deputy sustained minor injuries, and the deer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The HCSO Traffic Unit was notified to conduct a follow-up investigation at a later time.
