Help Identify Suspects Who Stole 44 Guns

At 1:20 Monday morning, the sound of burglar alarms broke the dark silence of downtown Dalton when police say three suspects cut through a lock at the Dalton Pawn Brokers.

"They entered the store and used a bolt cutter to smash through a glass gun case and they basically started loading guns into bags," said Dalton Police spokesman Bruce Frazier. "Inventory shows they got away with 44 handguns."

44 handguns were stolen in less than three minutes.

And very little is known about the suspects.

"They’re wearing stuff over their faces," Frazier said. "They’re wearing hoods and thick jackets so there’s not a lot that you can tell from the video. You can’t get facial features, skin tone, hairstyle or anything like that so we’re really hoping that either somebody has talked about that after the fact and people might have some information from that or somebody might recognize, hey my buddy has a jacket just like that."

Ronnie Lipscomb has owned this store for 49 years.

He raced to the store around 1:30 after the alarm company called him.

"It looked like a war zone," said Lipscomb. "All broken glass. I’ve never seen anything like it."

The money lost isn’t the owners concern right now.

"Of course the monetary loss there is great but these guns out there on the street to people that shouldn’t have them, it shouldn’t be that way," Lipscomb said.

"We really need to get these guys in custody because we’re not sure what they’ve got planned next," Frazier said.

While the suspects faces are not identifiable, investigators hope someone may recognize their clothing or build.

Anyone with information is urged to call Dalton Police at 706-278-9085.
