Gus Malzahn Not Revealing Plans to Contend With Tough Tide Defense
Last year Auburn hung 44-points on rival Alabama. But Saturday, the Tigers will face a Tide defense that has allowed more than two touchdowns in a game, only once this season. Tigers coach Gus Malzahn says it all starts up-front with Bama.
"Well, they’re the best in the country. I will say that. They’re the most talented group. Lot of those guys have played a lot of football. They put their two’s in, and they’re like most peoples one’s or maybe even better. Obviously, you have to have explosive plays on offense against their defense because they are so talented. Very few teams have driven the field consistently."
Reporter-"Do you feel like maybe you need to take a few more shots down the field early to open things up?"
Malzahn-"I’m not telling you.(laughter) You guys are trying to give all my secrets away you know. What else do we want to tell them? Reverse. Any reverses? Ya’ll want some reverses? OK. We’ll run some reverses all right."
