Emergency landing at Chattanooga Airport

UPDATE: An Allegiant Air flight en route from Orlando to Cedar Rapids, Iowa made an emergency landing Thursday morning at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.

The MD-80 was carrying 156 passengers when the pilot decided to land in Chattanooga.

Another aircraft was scheduled to come and take the passengers and crew on to their destination.

There’s no official report on the nature of the emergency.

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Fire officials say there was an emergency landing at the Chattanooga Airport Thursday morning.

Officials say the plane was having some sort of engine malfunction.

It landed safely.
