Alleged home repair scam leads to arrest

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A Chattanooga man with a long criminal history involving scams has been arrested and charged with unlawful actions by a home improvement service provider.
    
Ronnie Hendley, 59, of Chattanooga was taken into custody Wednesday night.

The alleged victim told police she gave Hendlely hundreds of dollars to build a service ramp and deck for her 102 year old father who is in a wheel chair.

But after it was all said and done, she realized she was being swindled and contacted the consumer protection agency.
    
According to a News 12 preliminary investigation into Hendley’s background, he’s been convicted for numerous charges including grand larceny, obtaining property under false pretense, forgery, credit card fraud and four counts of passing worthless checks.
