Abutment Road crash investigation in Dalton

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – Dalton Police investigate why a car crossed into oncoming traffic Monday morning on Abutment Road.

Officials say Taylor Adams was driving a black 2005 Pontiac G6 when he crossed the centerline and hit a 2001 Toyota Tacoma driven by 49 year old Ronald Townsend head on.

Townsend was taken to the hospital.

He’s in critical condition.

Adams refused treatment.

The road was shut down for almost an hour.

There are no charges at this time, but police continue to investigate.
