What do you do if you stumble across a gun?

CLEVELAND, Tenn (WDEF) Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson praises a local woman for how she “handled” a found gun.

She was leaving her home on Waterlevel Highway, when she came across a .22 caliber revolver (like the one in the photo) on the ground at the end of her driveway.

She did not move it.

She just called the Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy found that there were four rounds in the chamber.

The gun was not stolen, but investigators believe it could have been thrown from a moving vehicle that was being chased by police.

Sheriff Watson advises teaching children about what to do if they find a gun.

Don’t touch it.

But surround it with something so an adult can find it, then call an adult.
