Museum to Honor Medal of Honor Recipients
Hamilton County, TN (WDEF)- The Hamilton County commission discussed a way to honor Hamilton County war heroes Wednesday.
Officials from the National Medal of Honor museum say they hope to find a permanent home for the Charles H. Coolidge Heritage Center at Coolidge Park.
The center would be named after Charles H. Coolidge, a local medal of honor recipient.
The center would honor other local and regional recipients as well.
Bill Raines, a retired major general, is chairman of the board for the museum.
He said the center could promote character and heroism within the community.
The group hopes to fund the project by individual donors, as well as foundations and corporations.
A resolution was made to make land available for the center.
The county commission will vote on the resolution when they meet next week.
