Hixson man accused of purposely ramming car into vehicle with four people inside

HIXSON, Tennessee(WDEF) – An argument between a married couple has turned into an assault that could have injured several people.

Stephen Spencer, 41, of Hixson was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault after police say he purposely rammed his car into a vehicle carrying four people. It happened back in January but Spencer was taken into custody on a warrant.

According to the arrest affidavit,  Spencer told his wife to get out the house after the two had been arguing.

The wife’s friend and another person arrived at the house to pick her and her daughter up.

According to the arrest affidavit, Spencer followed them in his car then passed them in the 4500 block of Moses Road before coming to a complete stop.

The vehicle carrying four people attempted to go around Spencer’s vehicle but at some point, Spencer reportedly rammed the other vehicle.

An eyewitness told police he saw Spencer running from the scene after leaving his car rammed into the other vehicle.
